Ghana High Commission Hosts UK-Ghana Trade Partnership Agreement Workshop in Highgate London
The Ghana High Commission in the UK and agencies like the Ghana Cocoa Marketing Company and the Ghana UK Chamber of Commerce organised a successful workshop on the UK-Ghana Trade Partnership Agreement. This event aimed to inform UK-based importers and exporters about the agreement's opportunities and benefits.
The oversubscribed workshop, the first in a series, brought together key stakeholders from both countries, including representatives from the UK Department for Business and Trade and the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office. Also joining virtually on Teams were representatives from the Ghana Standard Board, Government Revenue Authority, Ghana Ports, and Ghana Customs. Attendees received valuable insights into the trade agreement’s implementation and compliance.
Keynote speaker Hon. Bell Ribeiro-Addy, the newly appointed UK Government Trade Envoy to Ghana, emphasised the importance of strengthening trade relations. Participants praised the workshop for its informative sessions and networking opportunities, highlighting the mutual benefits for businesses in both nations.
The Acting Head of Mission of the Ghana High Commission, Mr. Mawutor N.K. Alifo, expressed gratitude to attendees and confirmed plans for future workshops to enhance the UK-Ghana trade relationship further.
