VIDEO CIRCULATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA ALLEGING CORRUPTION BY THE GHANA HIGH COMMISSION, UNITED KINGDOM
IN THE ISSUING OF GHANA PASSPORTS
The attention of the Ghana High Commission has been drawn to a video by a lady circulating on social media alleging that staff at the Ghana High Commission in London demand two hundred pounds (£200.00) from Ghanaians before issuing them with passports. The Ghana High Commission operates a zero tolerance for corruption policy for its staff and clients and in rendering service has put in a place a system that keeps to the barest minimum personal contact between the public and its staff. Cash is also never accepted as a mode of payment for services the High Commission renders.
The Ghana High Commission therefore appeals to the lady who made the allegation in the video or anyone who has been the victim of extortion by any member of staff of the High Commission to personally contact the Head of Administration at the Chancery of Ghana High Commission located at 13 Belgrave Square, London, SW1X 8PN or send the details of such incident in writing to email address ghmfa31@ghc-uk.org, for the matter to be thoroughly investigated.
Meanwhile, the Ghana High Commission wishes its clients to be informed that members of staff have been barred from acting as intermediary, agents, helpers or assistants for any persons seeking the services of the High Commission.
